I   What: Inaugural Boston Athletic Association 10K

    Where: Charles Street near Boston Public Garden in Boston’s Back Bay

    Details: The 6.2-mile course is a scenic tour though Boston's Back Bay. Notable neighborhoods and attractions include the legendary Bull and Finch Pub, after which the television series “Cheers” was developed, the campus of Boston University, and trendy Kenmore Square. The race begins on Charles Street, winds down picturesque Commonwealth Avenue and Bay State Road as far west as Babcock Street near Boston University, before heading back on Commonwealth Avenue, around the Public Garden and finishing on Charles Street.
     
II   What: Tufts Health Plan 10K for Women

    Details: Over the years, we have often been told that this is a race like no other. Not only does it inspire women of all ages and fitness levels to step up to the start line and achieve their health and fitness goals, but also the camaraderie you feel from over 7,500 fellow runners simply empowers you to achieve those goals. That is why we have embraced the phrase start strong - finish stronger. We feel this captures the true essence of the race. We hope you will join us on Columbus Day.     Details: The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) was founded by twin sisters Karen Andrews and Kathy Giusti, soon after Kathy's diagnosis with multiple myeloma. The mission of the MMRF is to urgently and aggressively fund research that will lead to the development of new treatments for multiple myeloma. As the world's number-one funder of multiple myeloma research, the MMRF has raised $160 million to fund research worldwide. An outstanding 90% of funds raised go toward research and related programming.
